Customer Policy for Swoop Service Auto

Welcome to Swoop Service Auto! We are committed to providing high-quality mobile mechanic services and ensuring our customers have a clear understanding of our terms and policies. Please review the following information carefully before booking with us.

1. Payment Terms

  • Full Payment for Services $150 or Less: For services with a total cost at or under $150 (e.g., oil changes with air filter replacement), full payment is required upfront.

  • Deposit for Larger Jobs: For larger repair jobs exceeding $150, a non-refundable $50 deposit is required to secure your booking. This deposit will be applied toward the final repair cost.

  • Payments are processed through our online system at the time of booking or before work begins. We do not accept cash payments.

  • Final payment for larger jobs is due upon completion of the repair.

 

2. Service Fees

  • Base Labor Rates:

    • $150 per hour for vehicles within Los Banos, CA.

    • $170 per hour for vehicles outside a 10-mile radius of Los Banos.

  • Mileage Charge: A $1.00 per mile fee applies for locations beyond 10 miles from Los Banos, with a minimum travel fee of $20.

  • Minimum Service Fee: All jobs are subject to a one-hour minimum labor fee, even if the repair takes less time.

 

3. Warranty Coverage

We stand by the quality of our work and the parts we use. Warranty terms are as follows:

  • Normal Wear Items: 6-month/6,000-mile warranty.

  • Non-Wear Items: 12-month/12,000-mile warranty.

Definitions:

  • Normal Wear Items: Components that naturally wear out over time, such as brake pads, belts, and filters.

  • Non-Wear Items: Components that are not typically subject to routine wear, such as wheel bearings, alternators, and suspension parts.

Warranty Exclusions:

  • Issues caused by improper vehicle use or lack of maintenance.

  • Repairs performed by another party after our service.

  • Warranty claims without proper documentation or proof of our service.

 

4. Customer Responsibilities

  • Accurate Information: Customers must provide accurate information about their vehicle and the issue being experienced. Misrepresentation may result in delays or cancellations.

  • Safe Repair Location: The vehicle must be located in a safe and accessible area for our mechanic to perform the repair. Unsafe locations may result in service refusal, and the $50 deposit will remain non-refundable.

  • Vehicle Preparation: Ensure the vehicle is parked on a flat, stable surface with adequate space for repair work.

 

5. Scheduling and Cancellations

  • Rescheduling: Customers can reschedule their appointment up to 24 hours in advance without penalty. Less than 24 hours’ notice will result in the forfeiture of the $50 deposit.

  • No-Shows: If a customer fails to be present or does not provide access to the vehicle at the scheduled time, the appointment will be considered a no-show, and the deposit will not be refunded.

 

6. Pre-Service Documentation

To protect both parties, Swoop Service Auto will:

  • Photograph the vehicle prior to starting any repair.

  • Document and photograph new and used parts during the repair process.

  • Retain all photos and documentation in the customer’s digital file for reference.

 

7. Communication Preferences

  • Customers can choose their preferred communication method (SMS or email) for updates and repair discussions. This option will be included in the booking form.

  • To streamline communication, we do not offer phone call support. All queries and updates will be handled via SMS or email.

 

8. Liability and Limitations

  • Swoop Service Auto is not liable for pre-existing conditions or unrelated issues discovered during the repair process.

  • We reserve the right to refuse service if unsafe conditions are present or if the repair scope changes significantly upon inspection.

  • Parts supplied by the customer are not covered under our warranty.

 

9. Customer Conduct

  • Customers are expected to treat our staff with respect. Abusive or inappropriate behavior will result in immediate termination of service without refund.

 

10. Environmental and Hazardous Waste Fee

  • An environmental fee may be added for services that involve the disposal of hazardous materials (e.g., oil, filters, batteries). This fee will be clearly stated in your quote.

 

11. Refund Policy

  • Refunds for overpayment or canceled services (outside of non-refundable deposits) will be processed within 5-7 business days.

 

12. Service Limitations

  • Repairs are limited to the scope discussed and approved in the initial quote. Additional issues discovered during the repair process may require a separate appointment.

 

13. Data Protection

  • All customer information, including photos and repair details, will be securely stored and only used for service and warranty purposes. We respect your privacy.

 

14. Inclement Weather Policy

  • In cases of severe weather that make repairs unsafe or impossible, Swoop Service Auto reserves the right to reschedule appointments. Customers will be notified as soon as possible.

 

15. Emergency Repairs

  • Emergency repair services outside of regular business hours may incur an additional fee, subject to availability.
